“Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much.” – Helen Keller
Building a strong and supportive breathwork community is essential for the growth and well-being of your clients and practitioners. A thriving community provides a sense of belonging, fosters deeper connections, and offers a space for individuals to share their breathwork journey. Here are some key steps to help you build a vibrant breathwork community:
BUILD ON VALUES: Anchor your community in values that align with the group of people that you serve and with your own personal values. This will give your community something to believe in bigger than you, supporting you all to
VISION AND MISSION: Start with the end in mind. What values and principles will guide your community? What do you hope to achieve together? What is the grand vision that you see for yourself, your community, the problems you want to solve and the impact you desire to make? Reverse engineer your way back to where your current starting position is today at present to help provide a pathway forward for where you are now to the direction in where you are wanting to go.
START SMALL BUILD BIG: Everyone has to start somewhere! Mens Medicine was built from an idea that slowly manifested over 6months with our first gathering being only 6 men. Create the plan, have faith in the process, maintain consistent in your commitment, be willing to grow and evolve with your mission for the growth and benefit of your community.
COMMITMENT: If it were easy everybody would do it! Your commitment to your community has to come from within. This is why we build our communities on values. It helps support your commitment to your community because the community values align with yours. Even on your most challenging days you have the ability to serve your community as it is an extension of yourself.
METHODOLOGY: How does everything work? There is a system and formula to how you do what you do. Understanding what your methods are and systemising your processes will support you to create functionality and flow to how everything functions and operates, providing an optimal environment for strong growth and expansion.
LEADERSHIP: As the Founding Leader of your community, you will ultimately always be the heartbeat from which everything moves and grows. Promoting Self Leadership with your community will foster personal ownership of everyones own healing and growth journey, supporting greater integral growth of the whole community.
GATHERINGS & EVENTS: Providing spaces for your community to meet with each other, and to grow and evolve with you is how you service your clients and community. Providing a combination of online and in person community gatherings and events is the most effective way to powerfully impact your clients when they’re in your presence or attending one of your events, with the online portion providing a way for you to continue to support them when they’re not with you as well as providing a space for community members to connect no matter where in the world they are regardless of how far they are apart. This also provides intimacy within your community to always have something to look forward to.
SERVICES & OFFERINGS: Your offerings are how your community get to work and grow with you. This also supplies all the financial resources you will need to fund everything you are building, as well as supplementing your own income and future plans for yourself and your own family. Creating a systemised plan that aligns both your own personal plans alongside the community will provide harmony for you and your community to grow together far into the future.
COLLABORATION: Align your community with other people, communities and brands that are in alignment with values and people of your community to support a healthy ecosystem of community values, and the continual growth of your own community.
EMBRACE DIVERSITY: Even in a niche community there will still be a range of diversity, welcome it. Over time your community will go through many seasons of change and growth, with a diverse range of people making their way through your community, embrace the diversity within your community. People from different backgrounds, cultures, and belief systems can contribute valuable perspectives and enrich the collective experience.
FEEDBACK: Everything is feedback. From what you observe out in the industry and community, to how you observe your clients and community respond, everything is information feeding back to you what’s working and what’s not working. What’s needed and what’s not. Utilise feedback from what you witness and observe to the actual feedback you receive back from your clients, community, and team as a gift to grow to meet your community needs more specifically and powerfully.
